The
Brotherly Kiss!

The
Philippines
Once
again we wish to greet you with a brotherly (or sisterly!) kiss.
Not to say hello but Good-bye!
We
have been blessed in spite of our country’s worsening economic climate
and are still able to serve the Lord in foreign Mission Fields.
After
much powerful prayer seeking God’s will, we have the good news that not
only have we been sponsored by a kind sister, with an airfare to minister
to the unreached mountain people of the Southern Philippines during September
this year, but the Lord has also arranged for an exciting agenda there.
Local Christian Leaders will be trained intensively on the Principles
of Discipleship, Personal Quiet Time, Bible Study and Family Worship,
with practical follow-up field applications for the purpose of establishing
indigenous discipleship groups. From these groups churches will
later flow
This
missionary journey is potentially dangerous. Ewald will be travelling
alone, as it is safer than being in a group. A faithful and trusted
local pastor will be his guide and interpreter.
This
outreach has not been taken lightly, and only now, after months of prayer
regarding the Lord’s calling to the exceptional needs of that volatile
society, has it been implemented. With the recent media coverage,
no explanation is needed as to the current situation there. For
security reasons, details of the outreach can only be given upon his return,
as his intention is to move into the Communist and Islamic controlled
areas. He leaves on the 19th August. Please pray
that he will be safe in the hands of the Lord.
Please
also pray for finances for extra travel and accommodation there to extend
the potential of this outreach. Then too, the universally and ever
popular Word of God is also required (50 English & 50 Cebuano dialect
Philippino Bibles - R45.00 each).
You
are most welcome to contact me if you want to support the needs above.
May
God Bless You!

The
Russian Deaf People’s Project
More
good news is that we will be starting, God willing, the Russian Deaf People’s
Programme on video during November later this year. We have all
the equipment! - Praise God for the generous donation of not only
the necessary video equipment but also the means to complete the job.
Pastor
Ashod from Vladikavkaz will be the key person doing this project.
Deaf Ministry experts from South Africa have also offered their services
to make this a success. Please also pray for the necessary means
for them to utilise their vast experience in this developing ministry.

Dagestan
– Southern Russia on the Caspian Sea
Pastor
K, who attended the last Ossetian Seminar outside of Dagestan, raised
the funds to register his church so that we could be invited to visit
him for second level follow-up training. After this initial favourable
beginning, however, we ran into some difficulties. When we applied
for the visa to Russia, brother S, who was dealing with our visas informed
us, that our application had been declined due to terrorist activity in
Dagestan, which is mainly directed at Christian foreigners. The
reason being that an American Missionary was recently captured there and
all his fingers were chopped off - then released to go home. The
following is an extract from his letter:
"I am very sorry to inform you that the process of your visa application
has been declined. They have already had an accident with an American
who went to Dagestan, was kidnapped, and had his fingers cut off. A
lot of explanations were required by the Ministry of Internal Affairs,
and since then they would not process visa applications to any of the
trouble spots like Dagestan or Chechnya. Again, I am very sorry.
God bless….”
We
do not want to press where we should not go. We are thankful for
His timeous warning. We want to do God’s will in every situation.
That is our desire. Please pray for God’s guidance that we may always
be sensitive to His voice.

Outreaches
in Russia
We
still have more than 40 churches scattered all over Russia and Ukraine
who have requested Discipleship Training as a means to evangelism. This
is of course encouraging. From small beginnings this has developed into
an enormous project, and enormous projects require enormous resources.
The work on the mission front is developing well. While that work continues
apace in the field, extension work is also required on the home front.
We are at the stage that we cannot stop the work already started, but
we also need to develop our home support base. If you have the vision
to help with extension and other administrative duties, either full
or part time, we would certainly like to hear from you! Please pray
that the Lord will raise up the right people for the right jobs. Remember
the prayers of the righteous avails much. For queries on any of the
above please contact the writer:

Die
Broederlike Kus!
Die
Filippyne
Weereens
Plaaslike Christene
Ewald sal alleen reis,
aangesien dit veiliger is as in ‘n groep. ‘n Getroue en betroubare plaaslike
pastor sal sy gids en tolk wees.
Hierdie
Groete
in Sy Naam.

Die
Projek vir Russiese Dowes
Nog

Dagestan
- Suidelike Rusland aan die Kaspiese See
Pastor
Christen buitelanders. ‘n Amerikaanse sendeling is gevange geneem,
"I am very sorry to inform you that the process of your visa application
has been declined. They have already had an accident with an American
who went to Dagestan, was kidnapped, and had his fingers cut off.
A lot of explanations were required by the Ministry of Internal Affairs,
and since then they would not process visa applications to any of the
trouble spots like Dagestan or Chechnya. Again, I am very sorry.
God bless."
die Here se wil doen.

Opleidingsprojekte
in Rusland
Ons
opleiding as ‘n middel tot evangelisasie aanvra. Dit is natuurlik
‘n groot aanmoediging.
