Radio
Discipleship and
Church Training Programme
Overview
of Programme
Contents of Programme
The work
is comprised of two programmes:
(i)
a radio programme which has 130 half hour lessons for 6 months.
(ii) a comprehensive
church training programme.
It
was originally thought that it was not possible to plant large numbers
of churches over a short period. However this has already been done using
this programme - with lasting results. It is believed this can be repeated
in Russia but because they have a unique culture the material has been
adapted to suit that society - nevertheless the practical aspects of the
nuts and bolts are the same. Although forming the Gospel Belt (info available
on request) was also deemed impossible, it too, has already been started!
It
is my personal belief that this work which has been well tested
and tried over many years of dedicated work in the mission field - is
the most important single factor in world evangelism today. Unobtrusive,
it transcends all levels of society; is multi-denominational, moulding
and flowing into (and with!) most existing church activities such as Bible
Study, Prayer or Cell groups, without altering the existing orders, structures
or visions. Where there is no such activity or structure, they are established
by the programme itself, but it never appears as yet another new
programme.
It
is important to state that this programme is not designed to replace other
exceptionally good ones such as Alpha and EE3 (they are also filling vital
needs in the church today). However most of the same needs are also covered
by this one, but in a different manner. Because of its nature, others
can continue in their normal operation parallel to the Dohsa one, without
creating confusion. As mentioned this course embodies many of the elements
currently in others, but is more ongoing and the difference could be defined
as focusing more sharply on Evangelism through Discipleship, which in
the long term is a more self-perpetuating process, whereas in others the
focus is on Evangelism through teaching and fellowship or witness.
This
material is in essence neither Charismatic nor Mainline but it is honestly
said to be Biblically sourced, enabling any church group to work comfortably
with the material. It is highly adaptable and not an envelope on its own
like Alpha or EE3. If required it can be extended over 5years and amongst
other things, finally reaching post-graduate level. The introductory course
spans over a one year period where certain foundations are established
for continued discipleship (whether it is to be with this programme in
the future or not). It is more neutral to denominationalism thus bridging
that gap, and for this reason crucial church differences are avoided.
This
programme enriches other programmes merely by the implementing of certain
principles. Adaptability is one of its strongest advantages. Those that
have been through the Alpha and EE3 courses claim this superior in its
mechanism of discipleship (it works on the revelation of the word in the
individual's life to edify and strengthen the whole body of the church
in a unique way).
Simply
explained, it is based on a healthy relationship with:
·
God
· oneself
· other people
The
purpose behind this programme is to accelerate simultaneously the development
of:
·
personal spiritual growth
· personal knowledge
of the Word
· church leadership
& growth
The
key to the whole concept is based upon the individual, the member within
the Body. When all the members are healthy, the Body is healthy. No longer
will we cast our eyes guiltily upon this crippled and wounded Body of
Christ plodding through the centuries (and still miraculously doing its
work). Now, in triumph, we may gloriously behold another Body: Vital,
Strong, Healthy, doing the work in the manner purposed for it discipling
through witnessing the Word until He comes again. This will ensure the
most rapid spread of the Gospel through multiplication of true and committed
believers in the church with lasting results.
This
unique concept in discipleship is easily imparted to others by means of
the following seminars:
- a conventional
group meeting weekly for a year
-
1 x8hr/day or
- 3 x4hr/days or
- 6 x3hr/days (or 6hrs)
seminar
While
all are good, the last variant over 6 days with 3hrs/day (or alternatively
3 additional hrs - 6hrs/day) is best to cement a solid footprint. This
then is what missionaries go out and do. They give training and an overview
of the material in this way. Once the principles are caught the church
continues on its own
We
have also translated this programme into the Zulu and Afrikaans (S. African
languages) languages where there is great interest and expectation. The
Turkish, Indian and Arabic languages in the meantime are also on the drawing
board.
